You
go up a flight of stairs to the front door of this classic, high-alpine
log cabin to enter the spacious great room, featuring an exemplary
river rock wood-burning fireplace, soaring vaulted ceiling and an
extravagant antler chandelier. Expansive windows frame stunning views of
Dallas Peak, Mount Emma and the San Sophia Ridge as you look directly
onto the Sundance ski trail. The main living area is composed of a
dining area with seating for eight, a comfortable seating area with two
couches, and the open kitchen with a breakfast bar featuring seating for
three. Off the living area is a considerable slope side patio. The
Adirondack chairs, gas grill, and wood burning fireplace enhance the
exterior living area.
Also found on the main level is the guest
master suite with a king bed and en suite bath featuring a stand-up
shower and a separate jetted tub.
Up a half flight of stairs is the
master suite with a king bed, impressive alpine views and a master bath
featuring a steam shower and a large jetted tub. Off the master suite is
a private exterior seating area where you can enjoy the wonderful
vistas with your morning coffee. Still on the mid-level is the powder
room that serves the main living areas.
Up one more half level is an
open loft that looks over the living area and the generous windows that
allow abundant natural sunlight to fill the home. The loft living area
includes a queen sleeper sofa and chairs for guests to gather. The loft
also provides access to two queen guest bedrooms that share a full bath
with a tub/shower combo. Back on the mid-level is a separate staircase
that leads to a viewing tower/office with 365 degree views and a small
independent balcony.
Back on the main level, take the stairs down to
reach the lower level and the ski-in/ski-out room that has ample storage
for your gear. The Sundance ski trail is less than 50 feet from this
room. To the right you will pass through a galley style prep kitchen
where you can prepare your popcorn for the movie you will be enjoying in
the attached theatre room composed of seven oversized leather reclining
chairs, two giant bean sacks, and a substantial screen. To the left of
the stairs is the bunkroom featuring a queen bed with a captain’s bunk
and en suite bath with a steam shower. Also, found on the lower level is
the spacious laundry room, two-car garage and a different mudroom
proving access to the driveway.
Spread over three levels, this home
melds into the existing landscape allowing the residence to be ideally
located trailside to the Sundance trail for convenient ski access in the
winter. Summer hiking trails are conveniently found steps from the
backdoor and connect with many surrounding trails in the area.
