Villa Shinta Dewi - Ubud description
Only a few minutes from the centre of Ubud, the two storey, 4 bedroomed, modern villa set in beautifully landscaped, tranquil surroundings provides the perfect place to enjoy luxury tropical indoor / outdoor living. The views from the villa, which overlook a 16m infinity pool, lush lawns, colourful gardens and a cluster of mature riverside trees, are stunning. The property offers a variety of places to either meet in numbers or relax alone. A Sonos/ Bose sound system, with four music zones, provides a selection of quality music irrespective of which part of the villa or garden you may be in. As it was designed and built as an eventual retirement home for the owners, attention to quality and detail has not been spared.
Location and places of interest:
The villa is located in Tegallantang on Jl. Sri Wedari, one of the main streets leading in to Ubud. The town centre of Ubud, with the palace and central market, is literally only a few minutes ride away from the villa. In addition to being a centre for the arts, Ubud has something for everyone: cultural performances, museums and galleries, temples and historical sites, yoga and meditation, spas, an assortment of art, clothes and jewelry shops, excellent restaurants and, although not renowned for its night life, a good selection of bars with live music. If its peace and tranquility that's required, the villa is set back from the road and the only sounds normally heard are those of the birds and running water of the small river which borders the property.
Rooms:
Three beautifully decorated, ensuite, air-conditioned bedrooms and a spacious lounge, with stunning views to the pool and garden area, are located on the upper floor of this unique luxury Ubud villa.
The ground floor consists of a modern open dry kitchen, a chef's dream, the main dining area, an adjacent spacious lounge, the fourth bedroom, which can be easily converted to a closed air-conditioned lounge /study if not in use, and a gym. A wet kitchen and laundry room are located at the back of the villa.
Pool, Garden and Sungai (River) Terrace:
The 16 x 5.5m pool is located only 2m in front of the villa. At one end of the pool is a Bale (gazebo), which is one of the owners favourite places to have a light meal, read a book, open email messages or simply enjoy the views.
The infinity pool falls away to a lush green lawn, which is surrounded by lotus plants, a colourful variety of flowers, plants and trees. On a level below, between the lawn and the river, is the Sungai (River) Terrace. It is from here that the sounds of the running river water can be most enjoyed. At one end there is a second Bale (gazebo), which is ideal for practicing yoga, meditating or just chilling out. In the centre is the barbeque area with an outdoor table and benches which can also seat ten. At the other end and at the border to the river there is a variety of magnificent trees and colourful flowers.
Staff:
The villa manager manages both Villa Shinta Dewi Ubud and its sister villa: Villa Shinta Dewi Seminyak. She visits Ubud for at least one or two days per week or as is necessary. A supervisor, chef, two butlers, gardener and security guard make up the villa team. In addition to the nightly presence of the security guard, at least one of the butlers sleeps overnight in a separate building for staff which is located close to the villa complex entrance.
