Villa
Laura is a lakefront property located ten kilometers north of Menaggio
on the northwest shore of Lake Como, close to historic sites and
sporting activities such as golfing, sailing and horseback riding. Visit
the Museum of "La Raccolta della Barca Lariana" which features over 600
boats that played an important part in the nautical history of the lake
from the 19th century to today. Among them, is a Venetian gondola from
the last century which was built on Lake Como and a Cisco, which is a
typical English sailing boat also from the last century. Spend another
day shopping at the Armani, Ferragamo, Versace and Gucci factory
outlets. And you can always go sailing! Como and in particular the
northern part of the lake is renowned in all of Europe as an excellent
sailing area, providing enjoyment for sailing, windsurfing or kite
surfing. The area offers numerous alpine destinations and several
trekking and mountain bike trails.
A pedestrian path runs along the shore between the lake and the
property. Less than one kilometer from the villa is a village with shops
and restaurants.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Villa Laura with its spacious and brightly decorated interior is the
ideal vacation home for large families or a group of friends.
GROUND FLOOR
There is a living room with three comfortable sofas and large French
doors opening to the spacious panoramic terrace (350 square meters!).
This floor also features a fully equipped kitchen and a large dining
room with a table for twelve guests.
FIRST FLOOR
There are five double bedrooms, each with a bathroom. Two of the
bedrooms have an adjoining single bedroom, perfect for children. One
double bedroom has direct access to a balcony overlooking the lake.
The property is on the shore of the lake, only a few meters from the
beach. A large, spacious terrace surrounds the front of the house that
faces the lake and wraps around a side of the house. Here you have
tables and chairs for dining al fresco with views across the manicured
lawns to the lake. The swimming pool was added in 2010 and is located on
the side of the house with chaise lounges to accommodate all guests. It
is heated and, during the winter months, is enclosed in glass. From the
pool you can stroll to the lake where there is a small dock area and a
public beach. There is a public walking path between the property's lawn
and the beach.
Behind the house is the entrance from the street, with a parking area
that can accommodate six cars. Across the street from the parking area
is a lightly visited boat museum, featuring boats that were used on the
lake since the early 19th century. Most of the museum is hidden behind
ivy covered walls.

NOTES
The two single bedrooms are best for
children/families, as they must pass through the double bedroom to
reach the bathroom.
A small boat museum is beyond the parking lot, hidden by high fences and ivy covered walls.
As with all lakefront property, it has public access. A pedestrian path
runs along the shore between the lake and the villa. For this reason
privacy on the terrace could be limited especially during July and
August.
