South Point Abbey description
An old Dutch house carefully restored and retaining its gracious charm of a bygone era. The walls built of coral and limestone by master craftsmen almost two centuries ago remain intact.
Tastefully furnished in a mix of antique and modern furniture.
Kitchen - A modern kitchen. Guests can watch our chef prepare gourmet dishes.
From mid January to mid November one can step down from the Abbey garden to the soft sandy beach. Between mid November to the 1st week of January, there may be a sand movement and the soft sand might get washed away which is re-deposited within a few days, At this time it is a short walk to the beach. Occasionally sounds of passing vehicles may be heard.
Pool - An infinity pool with Jacuzzi, overlooking the Indian Ocean and silk route.
The garden steps down to the beach through a grove of trees. Birds and butterflies shelter here during season giving photo opportunities to nature lovers.
Staff of six chef, housekeeper, maid, houseboy, gardener, night watchman and manager on call. Our staff are friendly and courteous, discreet yet attentive
Our Chef excels in fine dining and seafood preparations
The staff are up by 6 am and will close up only after the last guest goes to bed.
1st Floor
1st Floor has 3 large and air conditioned bedrooms with en suite bathrooms.
Living area and wide verandah overlook the garden and beach. Boarded teak floors.
3 Bedrooms - with attached modern bathrooms, rain falls showers, hot/cold water on tap.
One bedroom has a king-size four-poster bed
Large French doors open out to the spacious verandah.
Two bedrooms have inter connecting doors making it ideal as a family room.
One room has a king size four poster bed. Large glass doors open put to the spacious verandah.
One bedroom has two single four poster beds and large windows overlooking the pool and ocean. This room has a separate entrance from the garden.

Verandah has a spectacular view of the Indian Ocean and garden.
Ground Floor
Leading in from the open verandah is a bedroom with attached bathroom, a reading room and a sitting area. The dining area is on the verandah. The antique terra cotta tiles on the ground floor makes the Abbey cool and charming.
Bedroom - The bedroom has a Queen-size bed, mosquito nets, ceiling fan and is air conditioned with an en suite bathroom with wash basins.
Reading room - has a ceiling fan can be converted to an extra single bedroom if necessary.
