Sonoma + Napa - 5 bedroom Wine Country. USA

Sonoma + Napa - 5 bedroom Wine Country description

Step away from the ordinary and enter the Southwest-inspired oasis. Nestled between the 1,700-foot peaks that
connect Napa and Sonoma Valleys, this Adobe lounge house is sure to
‘wow’ you with its unique Native American design and spectacular
panorama views. A steep, winding road leads you from the centrally
located village of Glen Ellen up to six secluded acres of luxurious
privacy and a hilltop vantage point, where you will find a three-bedroom
main house and a separate two-bedroom guest house, both of which are
ideally suited for larger families, multiple couples, or groups of
friends.

In the upstairs master suite, you can linger in your plush
king-size bed and gaze out the floor-to-ceiling windows to see as far as
Mt. Tamalpais in Marin on a clear day. When you do manage to pull
yourself from bed, pad through your double glass doors to access a
sheltered patio awaiting you for a cup of tea or coffee. On the ground
floor is a media room, dining area and a modest but contemporary and
well-equipped kitchen, which acts as the heart of the home. Open to a
step-down family room, the kitchen is where everyone gathers around the
wide granite counter top for casual dining and conversation as food is
being prepared. While we love the smooth interiors and natural lighting
of this villa, it is the outside space that makes this so livable. From the family and dining rooms, you have direct
access to a multi-level terrace that runs the length of the home and
looks out to the swimming pool and hot tub. The custom-designed outdoor
dining table at the far end of the terrace invites you to enjoy al
fresco meals any time of the day, with a vista that reaches from the far
eastern slopes of Napa Valley to ancient rock formations jutting up
from Sonoma Valley. Though just a 15 minute drive from many of Wine
Country’s biggest destinations, a stay at this five bedroom residence
ensures a remote feeling of being off the beaten path.

Built as an outwardly spiraling wagon wheel, it has a one-of-a-kind design that allows both playful and
practical elements to emerge. The thick walls of the Adobe architecture
keep the main house nice and cool - negating the need for AC - and add
to the rustic atmosphere created by the original Southwest tiles,
exposed ceiling beams and grotto bathrooms. The guest house just down
the hill, however, is equipped with more modern features, including AC, a
mini-kitchen, living and dining area and 180-degree views of the
tree-covered mountains and fabled vineyards of Napa. Beneath it is a
small workout room with its own view deck. The remote location is the perfect choice if you’re looking to step away
from town and immerse yourself in the stunning natural beauty of the
Sonoma and Napa mountains. And the best part is that you’re still only a
short drive from the world-class restaurants and tasting rooms of Wine
Country, when you are eventually able to retreat from this hidden-away
sanctuary.

Just beyond this villa’s gated grounds is Trinity Road,
which leads you west to Glen Ellen and Sonoma or east to Napa. In less
than 20 minutes, you can arrive to any one of these destinations for a
day of discovering the wines and foodie flavors of this renowned region.
The first junction on the way to Napa will bring you to Oakville
Grocery, a gourmet market and world-famous deli that we highly recommend
making a pit stop at before continuing on to other sought after
locales. All in all, it wouldn’t be a complete visit to wine country
without visiting the following:

Lunch outside in Mayo’s picnic area and experience the mouthwatering flavors of their chef’s wine pairings
