Mayana description
Nestled high atop the 75-acre Achiote Private Reserve, Villa Mayana welcomes its guests with fabulous views of the Pacific Ocean and the mountains hugging the coast of Costa Rica's celebrated southern zone.
Directly across from Hermosa Beach and a short ride to the famous "Whale's Tail" reef in Ballena National Park, guests enjoy both the estate's privacy and the many outdoor activities available in one of the most biodiverse-rich areas of the world.
The name "Mayana" was derived from the ancient Mesoamerican civilization and the Sanskrit word "maya", meaning "reflection". Utilizing gray water, solar panels, and natural sustainable materials such as bamboo, Villa Mayana's creators made every effort to fashion a home that reflects harmoniously with the environment.
The main entrance features a covered walkway floating over a 2,000 sq ft reflecting pool of black volcanic candi stone. Lined with columns of white palimanan sandstone, the walkway leads you to the east and west bedroom suites which flank the great room, the villa's central focal point featuring 30 foot thatched ceilings and overlooking the 3,000 sq ft free form, infinity-edge swimming pool crafted from hand-cut Javanese stone tile.
The liberating 270-degree vista provides fantastic views of rainforest and Pacific Ocean. Guests will enjoy similar stunning views from the bedroom suites and the central living area, overlooking the nearby beaches, the sunset, stars and exotic local flora and fauna. A short drive along the coast to Dominical, Uvita and Ojachal provides easy access to restaurants, shops and local entertainment.
