Greek Paradise description
An exceptional guest villa has been created with loving attention to detail, on the edge of the 25,000m Estate.
In the style of a Cephalonia manor house and with an imposing restored old olive mill nearby, this villa will totally charm discerning clients.
Stunning views over the countryside and the Ionian Sea are available from the main terrace, which offers shade as well as sun, and from the upper floor bedroom. The villa also has a lovely shaded dining area. The Tuscan style pool, set slightly below the main terrace into an area of lawn, has Roman steps leading down into the water.
Elegantly furnished with antiques and beautiful objects collected by the owner's family (with a long tradition in diplomacy), the villa is an excellent example of balance between traditional style and modern comfort. This gracious villa is neighboring an historic Estate, one of the island's gems and a tonic of a place. The Estate has ancestral olive trees and Italian cypresses, which together with the rich variety of indigenous trees and flower bushes form a unique Mediterranean landscape dominated by the impressive 19th century olive mill (today a private museum) and the 18th century threshing floor.
It worth mentioning in relation to this historic Estate and its adjacent guest villa, which is going to appear in an article in the 2011 March Edition of the Conde Nast Traveler magazine that hidden Cephalonia (Kefalonia) is a rising star in the Mediterranean.
This is a unique island with incredible variety and many stunning secluded beaches with clear blue waters, some of which are very near the villa (1-2 kms).

The guest villa and the Estate are two different adjacent properties separated by a low old stonewall and bushes. Nobody lives permanently on the Estate proper. The owner as the manager of the wider property occasionally uses the cottage, which is never rented out. Guests staying at the villa are given the possibility to visit the neighboring Estate.
The villa & pool lies on a separate plot of land adjacent to the Estate. Just a stone's throw from the villa is Trapezaki beach. Within two kms is one of the best and most secluded beaches of the island, Lithero, which features a small fish tavern. Those seeking a picturesque spot, away from the crowds, should visit Koroni beach (7kms) with its clear waters and its Robinson Crusoe bar.
The capital of the island, Argostoli, is at 12 kms, the airport at 10kms, 2 taverns at 800m, and a bakery at 600m. 3 km by car from the village of Poriarata, 2.5km from Peratata. Stores/shops within 1 to 3 km. The port of Sami within 30 km.
