This Time & Place vacation rental home in Florence is classic and modern all in the same breath. This luxury 3-bedroom apartment is nestled inside Palazzo Bardi, an antique palazzo on via de’ Benci in downtown Florence. Palazzo Bardi was originally built in 1420 by the famous Renaissance architect Filippo Brunelleschi, and in 2000 was converted to 8 apartments. How great is that? As if that wasn't interesting enough, this property was once a piece of a theater thought to be the meeting place for the group of 16th-century musicians credited with inventing opera. This luxury vacation home is located on the 2nd floor with no elevator access, so be aware that you will have to take the stairs, however we promise you the apartment is worth the work!
The aptly named Camerata was recently renovated in 2012, and offers all the charm of this historical building with updated modern-day amenities, including air conditioning. The exquisite Florentine architecture can be admired throughout the home, including the original plaster 18th century frescos.
The well-appointed modern kitchen with updated appliances, is perfect for hosting an event catered by a private chef. The mezzanine level dining area offers seating for 12 people, along with a cocktail and coffee bar, convenient for both pre- and post-dinner drinks! There is also a sitting area, complete with a full AV entertainment system and flat screen --although we couldn't imagine watching TV when surrounded with all the beauty in this luxury apartment and in the city of Florence. With a king-sized bed and flat screen TV in each one of the 3 bedrooms, and en suite bathrooms available, each family member or friend will be happy to have their own private space at the end of the day.
