Almost Heaven - STJ description
Almost Heaven offers a brand-new, sparkling oasis of relaxation and casual island living for family and friends.
This charming, just-completed home tucked into a scenic hillside. It's built on two levels connected by an interior staircase, and looks out to inspiring panoramic views of Coral Bay dotted with yachts riding at anchor, and in the distance, neighboring British Virgin Islands islets and cays such as Norman Island and Peter Island. These spectacular wide-angled views never get old!
The handsome entrance to Almost Heaven is done in St. John's iconic stone-and-shell work with artistic brick trim. The entry brings you into the villa's cheerful living area and the well-equipped kitchen, which features granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, Keurig and Mr. Coffee coffeemakers, and a counter with bar stools. Almost Heaven has a spacious and lofty ambiance; with ceiling fans throughout and refreshing tradewinds blowing from the east, this villa is cool and comfortable.
Almost Heaven has two wonderful features in addition to all of its other amenities: two fully-screened porches front both levels off the living area and from the upper and lower bedrooms. If you can't tolerate mosquitoes or flying critters, this is the villa for you! Each screened porch is furnished with cushioned chairs and chaise lounges, perfect for reading, napping, or just enjoying the ocean scenery. The upper-level porch, just outside the kitchen and living area through french doors, offers a large table for six -- wonderful for breakfasts, lunches and dinners with a view, or for lively card or board games. Screen doors lead from this porch and from the lower-level porch out to the large pool and hot tub deck, outfitted with chaise lounges for sunning.
Almost Heaven has two air-conditioned queen bedrooms, each with an ensuite bath; one of each is situated on both levels for excellent privacy. A washer and dryer are tucked into a closet on the upper level. The upper-level queen bedroom opens via glass french doors onto the spacious screened porch, which looks out to the sublime ocean views. A staircase, crowned by a graceful brick-trimmed archway, leads to the villa's lower level and the second queen bedroom/bath. Adjacent to the lower-level's queen bedroom is a king bedroom/bath, a perfect layout for parents with small children. All bedrooms have window blinds for privacy and for sleeping late on vacation. Sliding glass doors connect both lower bedrooms to the screened-in porch just outside.
This new home is decked out in soft Caribbean colors, and features a collection of bright tropical paintings by St. John's renowned artist Shari Erickson, pristine tiled bathrooms with glass shower enclosures, artful floor tile design and whimsical tile designs in both the pool and hot tub, handcrafted pottery light sconces, and a well-thought-out floor plan. Restaurants and Coral Bay fun are just a quick drive down the hill. Tiled baths are en suite and all have showers. Also, there are 2 alfresco showers for after-the-beach rinsing: 1 located poolside and 1 located near front entrance.

Nearest Beach: Salt Pond Bay, a 10-minute drive, + the beautiful National Park beaches are an approx. 15-20-minute drive away.
