A Summer Place description
A Summer Place is a lovely villa located on beautiful, private white sand beach cove in Discovery Bay. Recently renovated, the villa is the perfect setting for family reunions and larger groups.
The design of A Summer Place is charming West Indian gingerbread complete with hand-carved fretwork that trims the length of the villa.
The large open plan living room features an entertainment center with a 30" DSS television, VCR and assortment of videos for all ages. Lovely French doors open from the living room to an expansive 1,500-square-foot furnished verandah that looks out over the 16/ 32' pool to the beach.
Beautifully draped with tropical flowers, the verandah is the heart of this home. Guests will enjoy relaxing on the verandahm reading playing games, taking naps or just enjoying the beauty of the grounds and bay.
Dining may be enjoyed in the formal dining room which has a 250 year old heirloom table that can seat up to 14 guests or on the verandah/terrace.
Outside, there is a lovely seaside gazebo, the large private swimming pool and a variety of ocean toys to include sea kayaks and snorkeling equipment. The home is fronted by a 100' beach cove and a long jetty that leads to the gazebo.
The waterfront gazebo is also a favorite spot for massages, cocktails and watching glorious sunsets across the bay.
The grounds are lush with multicolored bougainvillea, hibiscus, sea grape and an array of tropical flowers and trees. An expansive side yard provides an ideal setting for children to play.
The villa offers seven air-conditioned bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Six of the bedrooms are located in the main house and the seventh bedroom is located in the converted garage nearby. All of the bedrooms are air-conditioned and are outfitted with fine linens and decorated in colorful motifs.
The villa boasts a private tennis court as well as an air-conditioned fitness room complete with treadmill and elliptical machine.
Rental of the villa includes complementary international calls to the US, Canada and land lines in the UK. Additionally, there is a complementary laptop computer and DSL Internet connection.
Delightful Ocho Rios is about a 25 minute drive from the villa/Discovery Bay.
A Summer Place is an excellent choice for families as well as large groups. For even larger groups, A Summer Place may be rented in conjuction with other Discovery Bay villas such as Fortlands Point, Sugar Bay, Amanoka, Keelawee, Whispering Waters, Sundown, Coral Cove 1 & 2, Seagapes and Sea Haven.
Bedrooms:
Master Bedroom: Has a lovely balcony with an ocean view and a 4 mahogany 4 poster king sized bed and a TV and VCR. The en-suite bathroom has a walk in shower, separate tub and double vanities.
Bedroom 2/Purple Room: The room has a balcony with ocean view and a king bed as well as an en-suite bathroom with tub/shower combo.
Bedroom 3/Cream Room: This room has a balcony that has both mountain and ocean views. It is outfitted with either two twins or a king at guest's option. There is a spacious bathroom with tub/shower combo.
Bedroom 4/Yellow Room: This room offers guests a mountain and ocean view as well. It is outfitted with a king sized bed and bunk beds which can accommodate two children. It has an en-suite bathroom with a tub/shower combo, too. Additionally, there is a walk in closet and it has a TV and VCR.
Bedroom 5/Green Room: Again, this room provides both the mountain and ocean views and has two queen sized beds and there is a spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi and a separate shower as well.
Bedroom 6/White Room: This room is the only bedroom that is located on the main level and it opens to the lower verandah and pool terraces. It has a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a tub/shower combo. This room is equipped with a TV and VCR, too.
Bedroom 7/Located in the garage conversion, it has a small porch on the lawn and has a king bed and an en-suite bath with a tub/shower combo.
