Secluded oceanfront estate at stunning Malaekahana Bay. On this idelic spot you will go back to a time when life was slow and easy. Northeast trade winds and the occasional sunshine-laced rain showers in this lush tropical setting will instantly set you at ease. Located between the old sugar plantation town of Kahuku and the quaint village of Laie, these units are set beachfront down a private lane off the coastal island highway. This secluded beach-front acre is tucked between a classic ironwood grove and a lawn which stretches down toward a sandy swimming beach.
In the larger, two-story, cottage, the first level contains a living-room, bathroom, kitchen and bedroom adjoining a large outdoor living area and lanai. Upstairs is a spacious master bedroom (king-size bed and twin size daybed) with a large, airy bathroom and a lanai facing the sunrise. The large second bedroom contains two twin beds, one sofa and a flat screen television.
The smaller, neighboring cottage is laid out with a small bedroom (queen-size bed), kitchen and bathroom, and an exceptionally large living area with two "pu'nees" (queen-size sleeping beds), the entire front opening up onto the lawn and the sea.
There is a 40" flat screen TV, DVD player and iPod docking station in each house.
Malaekahana Bay has a long white-sand beach, which makes it perfect for beach walks, ball games and relaxation. It offers good bodyboarding and surfing opportunities. Located just offshore on the southern end of the bay is the small Mokuauia Island, also known as Goat Island. If you are eager to explore it and want to be on a secluded island all by yourself, you can swim over, take a body- or surfboard with you or when it’s low tide, simply walk over because the water is flat enough. Just put some reef shoes on to prevent cuts on your feet. Goat Island is a real hidden paradise. It has a white, sandy beach and green sea turtles can be spotted in the area
For those who decide to explore beyond their private piece of paradise, just down the road is the Polynesian Cultural Center, an interactive park which seeks to offer guests a deeper understanding of Hawaii and its unique history through on its 42 acre park complete with waterways and a lagoon, art exhibits, crafts and sports exhibition areas, island dancing, mat weaving and coconut husking lessons.
