Masseria Cometa description

Sprawling over 400 hectares of beautiful rolling hills, olive groves and vineyards, Masseria Cometa is much more than just a traditional retreats. Dating back to the 18th Century, the building was once a fortified farmhouse reinforced to resist attacks by pirates and Turks.

Nowadays, it is a serene place both for individuals and families, with its neutral colors making up the interior of the house with elegant contemporary and antique furnishings that complement its original features.

Inside, guests can admire the original vaulted stone ceilings and the stone flooring, while white paint and lightly colored furniture create a peaceful atmosphere full of brightness. The seven bedrooms are all differently decorated, but with some common characteristics, with modern design integrating the old in a smooth balance.

Outdoors, guests can find a large swimming pool, a covered patio area and a sunny courtyard. In addition to wine and olive oil production, the Masseria has its own vegetable garden that follows the seasons and an orchard with fig, pear, pomegranate, peaches and almond trees.
The villa is just five minutes driving from the small village of Grottaglie, world known for its ceramic and grape production. The Masseria offers a truly authentic experience in an elegant while rural atmosphere.

This charming hideaway is an ideal fairytale scenario to host a venue, from a wedding to a intimate party, from the outdoor courtyard with unrivalled views on the Salentine hills to the elegant indoor dining and living rooms with historic architectural details.

At 6 minutes walking from the villa there is an antique church where it is possible to have a reserved wedding celebration.

The concept behind this project of restoration is a second home getaway as an intellectual and cultural sanctuary, giving priority to beauty, origin, curiosity and culture. These timeless values can be accomplished by this enchanting untouched corner of Italy, with its local food, wine and history to be discovered.

The pool is open from mid-May to mid-September. Outside this period, the swimming pool can be opened on request for an extra charge. Car is needed to reach the villa and explore the surrounding area.
